Sweater Weather at the Borderview Research Farm

At Borderview Research Farm, researchers grew, winter-retted, hand-processed, and locally spun hemp fiber to produce some of the first fully regional hemp:wool yarns in the modern Northeast supply chain. The project exposed critical gaps in U.S. textile infrastructure while demonstrating that “field to finished garment” production is possible when farmers, mills, and designers collaborate closely.
