The MATR!ARCHY NOW!! Collection is about birthing new paradigms on earth. At present, we live under Patriarchy; a paradigm which places power and profit above all else. The towering Síle Na Gig mural invokes the memory of an alternative timeline; one that places children, women, and the earth at the center. Every ensemble incorporates natural fiber grown and hand processed in Vermont. Hemp, flax, and wool are the building blocks of the collection, with silk and cotton included in two of the looks. All of the dye in the collection (with the exception of the Palestine Action shirt) were grown in Vermont as well. At the time of this installation, eight individuals arrested for direct action against the ongoing genocide in Gaza were enduring their final days of an unprecedented hunger strike across UK prisons. The work acknowledges their heroic actions.
